2024 At A Glance: A Year of Growth, Innovation, and Community Impact for MCAM Northwest
As we look back on 2024, MCAM Northwest celebrates a year of growth, innovation, and deeper connections within the manufacturing community. This year, we focused on empowering our customers through new Mastercam technologies, industry events, and instructor-led training sessions, all aimed at driving efficiency and expertise.
Our team expanded, new partnerships were formed, and we maintained our commitment to educating and supporting the next generation of machinists and programmers. Here’s a look at our accomplishments and milestones throughout the year.
What is the importance of AI in manufacturing in 2024?
According to a recent study, manufacturing leaders believe that “implementing AI into manufacturing is vital to my company’s future success.” To that end, “88% of respondents have already implemented AI in their manufacturing and supply chain operations.”
Industry Engagement
2024 saw MCAM Northwest strengthen ties with the manufacturing community through major events like Next Level Machining, showcasing Mastercam innovations in CAD/CAM as well as presentations on the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in manufacturing and live demonstrations of advanced equipment and technologies.
As part of our mission to help reduce the Manufacturing Skills Gap in the Northwest, we participated in a Manufacturing Day event presented by GK Machine, helping to provide students with an opportunity to explore a variety of technical career options.
Additional industry events included attending Haas Demo Days in Idaho, presenting at the Advanced Manufacturing Seminar with Zoller, and attending the Idaho Manufacturing Industry Trade Show & Conference.
Instructor-Led Online Training
This year, MCAM Northwest launched online, instructor-led Mastercam training to provide flexible, interactive learning for machinists and programmers nationwide. These live sessions allow participants to learn directly from Mastercam experts, ask questions in real time, and gain hands-on experience with the latest software features. Topics cover a range of essential skills, from foundational techniques to advanced toolpath strategies, making it a convenient option for both new users and seasoned professionals looking to refine their abilities.

Expanding Knowledge Through Tech Tip Videos
Our instructional Tech Tips attracted thousands of viewers, providing valuable insights, tips, and training for Mastercam users. These Tech Tip videos covered a range of topics, from tutorials on new Mastercam 2025 features to mastering 3D toolpaths and exploring CAM Assist’s capabilities.
These resources offer workflow tips for improved efficiency, and product demos designed to support both novice and experienced users.

Company Events
In 2024 MCAM Northwest hosted 2 company events, a team bowling activity and a company retreat to Las Vegas, Nevada!
Bowling brought out everyone’s competitive side, with cheers and high-fives creating a fun, relaxed atmosphere as we enjoyed each other’s company outside the office.
The company retreat to Las Vegas was an opportunity to recharge and strengthen our collaboration. During the trip, the team enjoyed bonding experiences, including seeing Postcards from Earth at the Sphere—a unique and unforgettable show.
2024 Manufacturing Industry Overview
According to the NAM (National Association of Manufacturers), “for every $1.00 spent in manufacturing, there is a total impact of $2.69 to the overall economy…This figure represents one of the largest sectoral multipliers in the economy.” In addition, “manufactured goods exports have more than doubled over the past two decades.” Key exports included aerospace products, machinery, and electronics, reflecting high global demand.
The White House highlighted the importance of manufacturing in 2024, stating it “drives our economy, strengthens our national security, and provides good-paying jobs.” The proclamation for National Manufacturing Day emphasized the industry’s role in creating resilient supply chains, promoting sustainability, and advancing technology to keep America competitive.
Other notable manufacturing statistics from 2024 include:
- There are 13 Million people employed by more than 244K manufacturers in the U.S.
- ISM Manufacturing Employment in the United States peaked at 51.10 points in May
- The biggest exporting industry in manufacturing by revenue was Automobile & Light Duty Motor Vehicle Manufacturing
