Mastercam University is now offered for free to all customers, students, and potential customers!

Mastercam University offers 24/7 access to fully online training. The courses are designed to be self-paced. Each lesson contains a set of learning objectives, assessment questions, and challenges to be completed by the student.

New tools to make learning more fun!

Learners can now enjoy more video-based content than ever before, as well as improved search and findability of courses (the Learning Hub features an integrated search across all of myMastercam). Additionally, users can easily resume where they left off with automatic course progress.

Improved local language support for non-English speaking students.

Full, selectable video transcription will now be provided alongside each video within Mastercam University. This allows for machine language translation into 16 different languages (as of August 2023).

Where to start on Mastercam University

Mastercam Basics Series

In this course, students will become familiar with navigating Mastercam’s user interface, create and program a simple part, and learn some basic manufacturing concepts.

Mastercam Core

This course contains 60 lessons of essential knowledge required to build a strong Mastercam foundation. It is designed to prepare you for future learning in Mastercam in areas such as Mastercam Mill, Lathe, Router, and even Mill-Turn.

Multiaxis

Discover fundamental knowledge in positional and multiaxis machining with this intermediate level course. Students will learn Multiaxis control options, apply machining strategies to promote efficiency, and program positional and simultaneous five-axis toolpaths.

2D Mill

This course will cover the skills needed to design and program your part in Mastercam, focusing on many common situations that you may find yourself in when you start using Mastercam.

3D Mill

Explore the workspace, geometry creation, and toolpath creation for Mastercam Mill. This beginner’s essentials course will provide a fundamental understanding of mill programming and prepare you for future courses.

Lathe

This course is designed to familiarize students with the Mastercam user interface and provide the resources needed to become proficient with geometry creation and toolpaths for lathe applications.

Mill-Turn

Mastercam Mill-Turn programming streamlines high-power multistream machine centers for increased performance and safety. These multitasking CNC machines reduce multiple setups, manual part handling, redundant fixturing, and idle time for improved productivity in manufacturing. Using Mastercam’s proven milling and lathe toolpaths, this software simplifies the programming process for mill-turn machines with job setups keyed to the exact machine in your shop.

MP Post Basics

Designed for those who wish to gain basic understanding of how to modify and develop Mill post processors for Mastercam. This course provides insights into how Mastercam’s post processors integrate with Mastercam, as well as instruction of how to modify MP post processor customization (.pst) files to facilitate creation of desired NC output.
